Lots has been going on since I last posted which was around a month ago naughty naughty..I have quickly settled into my new job and I am enjoying it very much..Home life is very hectic at times as usual and work has started on our new extension so it is all go way out here in a rural countryside in the U.K..I am taking pics of the project and will share very soon it is so Eeekkkk exciting...

I am pleased to add some wonderful updated pics of my very dear friend Sarah's home..as most of you know she was featured in the PRIMITIVE PLACE mag last summer which was so exciting for all who know her LOL..There has been lots of changes in her home since then and Oh I love them all..Her collections of old pewter and antique stone fruit all look wonderful...sit back and enjoy the pics..

I haven't been idle in my spare time these last few weeks and have been making some very prim grubby Bears and Pandas..here are some pics of my lastest ones which have all found new homes..

I have just finished up a couple more teeny ones for ebay this week and here are their pics...These little guys are the small size bears I make and are all around 5" sitting ..a lovely tuck in size LOL...

A NEW VENTURE DOWN A DIFFERENT PATH

I must wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope you all had a wonderful Christmas..I feel a bit like the donkeys tail always bringing up the rear and a few weeks behind everyone else...A month ago I started a new job as a social support worker working with adults who have various levels of learning difficulties..I am working full time doing shift work and I am enjoying the challenges this new roll is bringing whilst still keeping up with my family and their needs and not ignoring my prim friends along the way but I am sure they understand ♥..I have been checking in on my favourite blogs to see what everyone is up to and busy with but sadly not always having the time to comment...When I get into a regular routine I will rectify that LOL..
I am still making my prims in my spare time and running my website..well a prim lovin' artist could never stop doing that..just last week I completed my very first miniature prim teddy bear..I am so thrilled how he turned out and boy is he small just 3" sitting and completely handstitched..I painted him an old look box and popped a grubby heart on the top..well valentines is on the way so hearts are in vogue HA HA..I may become addicted to making these..He is pictured below and available on EBAY this week..

Hi bloggin' buddies

After my Festive Gathering which went very well with lots of sales and orders taken my hubz said I really needed to chill and rest for the week..I put my orders on hold and as the kids were out of school for half term I thought it would be perfect..we started the week with a trip to the beach mind living on the North sea coast means top coats hats gloves and wellies..we had great fun and watched a mock sea rescue with helicopters and lifeboats..those guys are so brave as the waves must have been around ten foot high then it was off for the usual English nosh Fish'nchips yum yum..the boys were off out at friends next which left me to have a bit of a move around at home with my bits and bobs..love my new moves..next saw us all away to the Ice rink..alot of giggling went on here and a few bruises the next day..well the kids were happy so they had to tolerate a day junking and I got a fab mirror for my mantle and a steel at only £3.00 around $5.00 will do pics when I have it finished love it..then the weather turned a bit nasty so rounded off the week with a day baking the kids love to do that..finally it was our annual Halloween bash which is held at my mams home..all

the family come together with pots of food and bags of goodies their pumpkins are carved and they are all dressed to kill LOL..The best fun I must admit..

Hi girls I am back with lots to share with you..I only have one week to go before I fling open my doors and welcome all into my country home for my *FESTIVE GATHERING*..I have spent the last couple of weeks making my wares and I have taken a few shots just to give you a little taster of what is on offer...When I make a date for my GATHERINGS it always seems like I have lots of time to create lots of goodies but with the best intentions it still seems like I run out of time at the last minute...I still have a couple of days left and only 3 things on my list to do...I AM ON TARGET I THINK YIPPEE..I so love making the gorgeous scented fixins and grubby blackened beeswax ornies and santas...

Well the excitement is rising and tomorrow I will start to convert my home in to a place filled with festive goodies..A bit early for my Christmas tree to go up but all in a good cause and come the end of the week we will be making around 200 cupcakes to be served with freshly brewed coffee...I will post some pics of the finished room when all is done...I hope you have enjoyed my pics and I so wished you could all attend..

TIME SKIPS ON MERRILY WITH OR WITHOUT US..

SO GLAD TO BE BACK WITH LOTS TO SHARE..♥

Since my last post lots and lots has been going on in my prim country home and life...Mid August brought loads of changes to my house as we remodelled one of our bathrooms..it is really the childrens bathroom downstairs and did have a full bathroom suite fitted..to make it more functional we decided to remove the bath and move and replace the rest of the bathroom sanitary wear and fit a large walk in wetroom style shower..poor hubby got the job him being a stonemason and builder along with my son-in-law a time served plumber..the results are just fantastic and I love the simple uncluttered style of it..I am having trouble keeping the boys out now what with all the jets and overhead rose gadgets..they have never been so clean LOL..to finish things off hubby laid a stone flag floor in the new shower room and back along the hall to the dinning room..it is just perfect...We are also in the throws of applying for planning permission to extend our dinning room up one level to make a larger family bathroom and large bedroom with mezine floor for the youngest boys..Living in a conservation zone NORTHUMBERLAND NATIONAL PARKS there are alot of hurdles to clear so far the bat and owl surveys have been completed so it is fingers crossed now for the planning..will keep you all posted about that though..

Next the end of August saw the beginings and pen to paper planning of my *FESTIVE GATHERING*..After much encouragement and great feedback from my *EASTER GATHERING* I decided to just bite the bullet and go for it..I have been making none stop since whilst still keeping up with my orders and adding to ebay...nightshift seems to be the way forward HA HA..I have given you all a little sneek peek of my goodies made so far..I still have lots on my TO DO list but making progress steadily..

Now into September and can't believe how the time is passing so fast..2 of my boys were off to new schools so it was excitment and apprehension all round..gladly they have settled into their new schools without a hitch and are enjoying the new challenges they face everyday...Mid September brought us some new additions to our already large family..we are already the proud owners of 4 lovely Guinea pig fur balls and 2 of them gave birth to the most gorgeous fur babies..

This is THYME with her 5 little darlings just 9 days old now..

And this is PARSLEY with her gorgeous boys born on 9/11..3 weeks old today...

Just into October and this saw me creating a couple of items for ebay..A prim *WITCHES CAT and POTION BAG*

What to do on a rainy sunday afternoon when the chores are all done ???..Well today blogger friends I thought I would share a few of my favourite things from around my home..Some antique some handmade but mostly junk LOL...As a child it was nothing to us to be carted off on an afternoon to an antiques auction or second hand fair and many many stately home auctions..At that time in my life with my 2 sisters we found it teadious and boring and probably spent hours sitting in the car moaning LOL...Now though it is a whole lot different HA HA..I just love to Antique and go junking and my home is filled with many things from the past..♥

A NEW BUDDING PRIM FOLK ARTIST

THE STORY OF A PRIM LITTLE BEAR CALLED *TOOT*

Who says boys hate sewing..this little boy sure had fun sewing up his prim little bear...Whilst making up some goodies for my Christmas in July post my youngest son Finley asked if he could sew up something on the sewing machine..I was a bit nervous at first but he waited and waited for me to finish up my Santas and whilst waiting chose his fabric and dipped into my own pattern folder and picked out a pattern..I cleared all my equipment away so I could give him all my attention..Together we pinned the pattern pieces to the fabric..I set the sewing machine to snail pace and off he went carefully sewing around every piece..sometimes I had to look away when his little fingers wavered a bit close to the needle but he did great and was very pleased with the stitchin' he had done..

Much to his dismay I did insist on cutting around his prim bear shapes..Next he took great care and patience turning each piece and then stuffing them all with wadding...

He neatly slip stitched his arms and legs closed ready for them to be attached..The only bit I helped with was attaching the head as his little hands weren't big enough to hold it all bless him..

We decided that button attaching the arms and legs would be better for his little bear as he could move them up and down..again I only held these in place whilst he sewed on the buttons and only narrowly escaping a few near miss stabbings with the large doll needle LOL..

Patiently and with great care he sewed on the nose following my instruction and then the teenie bead eyes...

He was almost done..but like all prim Artists he needed that individual look for his bear and Finley dived straight into my embellishments drawers and found a little wooden tag on which her wrote the name *TOOT* and a little rusty prim whistle..

He was all done now..Finley is not keen on the lovely prim aroma of coffee and spices and wanted his bear to sleep in his bed so no prim grubby treatment for his bear..I must say though this bear has been everywhere and as Finley rides off on his bike I can see TOOT peeking out of his pocket..TOOT is one week old now and has started to take on a natural prim grubby look LOL..His fur is becoming matted and felted and his is already grubby around the edges probably caused from being carted around the countryside and cuddled and kissed with grubby hands and mouth...You never know he may become a prim artist but at the moment he is just a little boy who loves his bear...I hope you have enjoyed the story of TOOT the bear because I had real fun spending time with my son and helping to make him...*~*Bessings to all*~*

Well girls CHRISTMAS IN JULY just gives me a big boost..Christmas in my favourite time of year so this really makes me smile creating Santas while the sun is shinning..I have these 2 OOAK Santas on ebay this week just click the link to check them out EBAY..Last year I had a go at making my own mache and chalk heads and then hand painting them..I am happy with how they turned out..All old and worn looking..

I love this standing Santa the best real folky looking and I made the little Sweet Annie wreath too..I am definaitly going to have a go at making a bigger one and I think it just finishes this lovely Santa off...hope everyone is enjoying the summer *~*Blessings to all*~*

A GRUBBY PANDA ADDICTION

Hi blogger friends.. For me summer is a strange season as there is always so much to do outside in the garden and in the back yard..As most of you know I live in the U.K and the weather is not always sympathetic to us and the last month has been no different..sunshine and showers all the way so it is in and out for me some days and in between all of that I do a bit of stitchin' here and there...furries seem to be the order of the day lately and I am having fun as usual with bears bears and oh yes the odd panda LOL...This sweet little guy is oh so faded out and looks so grubby and prim..He is available on ebay this week and as always I do ship international so no worries there..click the link to view more pics of him..EBAY..

I received some real sad news today about a fellow I have known for some 30 odds years..many times our paths have crossed and my children often popped in and out of his home when they were small..We are blessed to have known such a lovely man with a gigantic personality..He will be sadly missed..♥

Hi blogger friends.. I think I must confess I am hooked on making prim teddy bears..I love how they all turn out different with their cute little faces..This little guy is available on ebay this week EBAY Link.

He is made from a plush fabric and stuffed with excelsior and weighted for a great heavy saggy feel..I have used antique boot buttons for the eyes too..A lovely little bear..I have enjoyed a great weekend with my family as we have been celebrating our Wedding Anniversary..time does fly when you are having fun LOL..Hope everyone else is having a great weekend too *~*Blessings*~*

What has been going on with blogger lately ????..I couldn't comment on my fav blogs and I couldn't post either GGgRRRR frustrating and I did read others were having the same trouble...Fingers crossed I am back on course now LOL...I haven't been sewing much these past couple of weeks really..well it is the same for everyone this poor economy so just playing around with pens, paper and of course fabric some new designs on the board and thought I would share my latest..she is a good size doll and just full of charm..she isn't staying long as she is off to her new home as we speak/post,,,I love the way she turned out though and would love to see her with a dried sunflower sitting on her lap..♥

I was asked to make a Colonial style cloak for a very dear friend and loyal customer..we sourced the fabric and I set about searching the net for a simple design and even a pattern so I could go ahead with this requested project..After much searching I drew a blank and had to make it up as I went along and even trying it on along the way..I think you will agree it has turned out prim perfect and is going to look lovely hanging it it's new home...

To all my prim loving blogging buddies..I wish you all a Happy Easter and hope you all have fun searching your gardens for chocolate bunnies and easter eggs that the Easter bunny has left for you...We are having a family get together with the kids, grandkids and of course friends on sunday followed by dyed egg rolling compition down the castle hill in the afternoon..what fun it always is.. must get on now and get the eggs dyed...have a great time everyone..♥

WOTCHA WORKIN' ON THIS WEDNESDAY

*~*PRIM LINEN BED CANOPY*~*

I wanted to share this PRIM BED CANOPY with you all this wednesday...Today I have had a wonderful day spent with my very dear friend Sarah..A while back we talked about doing a bed canopy for her bedroom make over and a couple of weeks ago we went internet shopping in Germany to find the perfect linen fabric for this prim project..

her hubby Steve painted the room a simple cream colour and did the paint work a lovely dark mustard colour..we waited patiently for the fabric to arrive and last week it dropped onto the door mat..Steve made the wooden frame and attached it to the wall..this would hold the fabric in place..I travelled down to Sarah's today sewing machine in the back of the car and ready to start...

We started our morning with coffee and a chat about how we were going to achieve the look she was after..With scissors in hand we made the first cut and just went from there..making it up as we went along really with a few giggles thrown in for good measure LOL..With the main back and side pieces done we began to attach them to the frame..

Lastly the top pieces was sewn and fixed in place..

With the bed pushed back in position this canopy looked prim perfect and took on a simple early colonial look teamed with her lovely bedding..

Now to add her favourite pieces..A prim doll purchased from me at my Spring Gathering..An early framed sampler and pewter candle stick..

I think you will agree it looks great and the linen hangs beautifully...the room still has a couple of items which need tweaked and a new window dressing which is in the pipe-line now..I will post some pics when this room is ALL finished..You will be able to view some of Sarah's home pics in the next issue of the PRIMITIVE PLACE MAGAZINE...I had such a lovely day and wonderful lunch with a very special friend...Thank you for dropping by and hope everyone is well..*~*Blessings*~*

I think I must confess that next to bears my next best favourite make are Bunnies...I love making them in all mediums...the blackened beeswax ones smell of sweet chocolate cheesecake and boy do you want to take a nibble..the wool fabric ones take on the lovely olde and worn prim look and I recently tried my hand at needlefelting...this was so much fun but can be a a painful experiance too..those needles are so so sharp LOL..I was instantly hooked and have a few new projects in the making..finally don't you just love the vintage bunny graphics..fantastic for printing on fabric bags filled with blackened beeswax Easter ornies...the pics I have shared with you are items I have available on ebay at the mo...

*SPRING GATHERING*

I have had the most wonderful weekend at our SPRING GATHERING..This is the first time I have ever done an open house and was totally amazed at the support of loyal customers, friends, neighbours,family and people who just dropped in to our small GATHERING too sample our hospitality and purchase our wares ..On friday my daughter arrived with apron in hand and so glady made aroud 160 cupcakes all decorated beautifully we set up the barn room and waited in anticipation for the people to arrive on Saturday..we were not dissappointed and they just kept coming..It was great to chat with folk I haven't seen in a while and some had travelled from quite far away...

Sunday saw our shelves sparse in places but still the people came to share with us....A big thank you to each and everyone and I would like to thank all the people who sent me messages of suppot and well wishes it trully was a great time had by all...with many requests to do a Christmas Gathering looks like I need to set a date and start now making my Santas and stockings LOL...A few pics before the event and I think I should have taken more...

I sit here with a happy feeling knowing that I have some great customers and friends world wide who are all more than happy to give out their support and friendship when I need a little encouragement...BIG BIG HUGS to you all..♥

A little taster of the goodies on offer

MORE WAX ANTICS

Hey blogger mates..what have you all been up to??????..I have been planning my *SPRING GATHERING* which will be held in my home on the 26th and 27th of March between 10-2pm and whilst browsing country home and gift wear we will be serving fresh coffee and homebaked cupcakes..I will share my poster soon LOL...I have been flat out this past couple of weeks making prims and folk art for the event...I have a TO DO list which I am slowly working through and this week so far it has been blackened beeswax ornies and Easter decorations...I thought I would share some pics of this giant sheep..I am really impressed with how he turned out and he smells just fantastic..He looks fab on the mantle and I have tried him in an old wooden grain sifter too...Perfect for Spring..

Hi to my blogging friends..I have had a wonderful day today and have a really good happy feeling inside LOL...One of my girls is studying an apprenticeship in hairstyling..she goes to a training salon which she started going to whilst at school and has studied for 2years on that special programme and now studies and works in a busy hair salon in our local town..attending the training salon once a week..she treated me to a total restyle and colour at the salon where she works which I went for today...I love my new funky hairstyle and colour and really enjoyed the whole pamper thing LOL..I don't normally put time aside for myself so this was a real treat...

♥ALL FADED AND FULL OF CHARM♥

A NEW FADED PRIM LOOK

For quite a while now I have been playing with the idea of a few decorating changes...I first saw this faded look in one of the Judy Condon books and since then have been collecting pics from everywhere and putting them in a little file..Even found some in an old 2006 County Sampler..Some of my favourtie blogs have this calm white look and I just love it..*White Wednesday* is a great place for inspiration and also *Time Worn Interiors* and *The Old Painted Cottage*..the thing is though I do love my prim bits too so have tried to incorporate them in with this look...I have been re-painting my painted furniture and really distressing it so it looks chipped and battered or for a better phrase well loved... I am pleased with the results and now have my bedroom and little sitting room finished..Just need to continue throught the rest of the house which all takes time..But now I have started..I do hope you enjoy my vignettes and my new updated home pics..

SPRING MUST BE ON THE WAY

My goodness where has the time gone since my last post !!?!!...I think I have been bitten by the Spring Bug...I have been clearing out, painting and remodeling my home...I am calling it my FADED CHARM look...I love it and when the sun was streaming in this week it gave me a real calm feeling and made me smile LOL..I will share some pics later in the weekend of my bedroom and sitting room as one of my boys is off to France on a school ski trip so I am up to the eyes with labels and toiletries..I have added this little pic below as a little teaser..it was taken in my sitting room...

Hey girls I think I am on a roll..Times are hard at the mo with the economy and I wanted to create something simple with a Valentines theme that you could use year round...The heart pillows were just perfect and I have been playing around with simple text and pics this morning.. Mind I did need a quick lesson in word and was happy my daughter was around to give me the pointers I needed..maybe this year I should polish up on my basic skills in word LOL..

PRIMITIVE GOURD GARLANDS

This past holiday season I did a couple of Christmas Fayres and had great fun along the way..I made a few of these prim garlands and they went down a storm..I love making them and they fit in with most home decor schemes from shabby country to the real prim look..they come with their own aromer depending on the drieds you use..my hubby bought me the neccessary equipment and I am now drying my own fruit and veggies to make my garlands..like I have said many times I love to try out new ideas and just have plain old fun along the way..this one is now available on ebay along with the prim bears..well I am hooked on making them too..LOL..♥

I love the feeling after the holidays of just getting back into the swing of things..I have been working back at my day job and creating some new prims in my "other" time LOL...I have a real soft spot for bears and just love making them too..I use my own patterns and tweak them this way and that to get the look I want...I thought I would share some pics with you of these prim guys...

SARAHS' PRIM HOME

Here in the U.K we have quite a few prim lovers and we are a very close community..some are talented crafters Maggie at a Primitive saltbox ..Maria at The Cinnamon shack to name a couple (click and take a peek) and make the most gorgeous prims and some are collectors who buy their prims from around the world..I have a very dear friend who lives not far from me around an hours drive..Her name is Sarah and she has a most welcoming home..I visited her this week to exchange our Christmas gifts and have a real ol' natter..She had sent some pics of her displays and I asked her if she would share them with my bloging pals..I know we all love taking a peek inside prim homes...

A FEW FESTIVE DISPLAYS

*~* A little bit more like normal this week*~*

After our the adverse weather we experienced over the last 10 days things seem to be getting back to normal...I did make the wedding celebrations over the weekend and it was a lovely family get together..The happy couple went off to Edinburgh for their honeymoon but blimey they have had real bad snow..Back to what has been going on here..I have added a couple of snowy pics perfect for this time of the year..firstly our backyard at dawn..

I had to share these..A neighbours front door and the most perfect icicle tree..

My boys were in awe of this and said it would take ages to eat them all HA HA

Now for a few festive displays...I took the oppotunity whilst snowed in to decorate my home..One of my newest Santas and a window decoration that is on the outside..Greens..pinecones with berries and a flying reindeer..

I just need to pull on my wellies and go up the woods for my fresh greens now and I am ready for Santa..Snow is still a bit deep so will have to wait a couple of days though..

*A WALK TO SCHOOL*

Hi to all my blogger friends..I have been going a little bit stir crazy these last few days..we are experiencing some real arctic weather here in the North East of England at the mo..I have been snowed in since last wednesday and the snow is still falling..We have gone back to basics and are baking fresh bread everyday as there is no way of stocking up on supplies..Our nearest village Rothbury which is 8 mile away is even having trouble getting the delivery vans in..The postie hasn't been here since wednesday either and the army are delivering the prescriptions from our local Dr's surgery..well enough of my moaning as there is nothing I can do to make a better of it LOL..

I thought I would share a WALK TO SCHOOL with you..The school in our village is pretty lucky as the headteacher and class assistant both live in the village and there are 6 of the 21 pupils who attend Harbottle First School can walk to get there..

*WHAT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON TODAY*
A snow day at home is great and I alway treat it like a holiday and what better way to spend the day than makin' up some prims..I thought I would share some pics..I have seen the most fab Santas kicking around lately by the most talented artists and just love their sculpted faces..I have used modeling clay before but thought I would have a go..well he turned out just great and will be off to his new home soon..

Last night my bedtime reading was yet another flick back through the Merchantile Mag ( I read them over and over LOL) and spotted this fab snowman..now I am no woodworker but took the plunge with hubbies power tools and did O.K..I was after something a little different for my front door this year and this guy is just perfect..I am going to pop some fresh greens around him and I am sure to have the best dressed door in the village..

I hope all my dear friends over the pond are having the most wonderful day spending precious time with friends and family and celebrating on this THANKGIVING DAY..*~*Blessings to all*~* ♥

WAX ANTICS

SO CHUFFED WITH THE OUTCOME..♥

I have long admired the girls who make the gorgeous scented wax ornies and always buy mine from various different artists in the States..

I love to try different crafts and as I am having a stand at a local Christmas fayre and I needed some other items to sell..things with a different angle from my fabric crafts..I sent off for a Belsnickel Santa mold and bought myself some beeswax..everything arrived and I couldn't wait to get started..I was a little baffled as the mold was a 2 piece and of course this was a 3D Santa...Anyway I started last night and poured my 2 halves..I could barely wait this morning and in my PJ's whilst the boys were eating breakfast I poured my secound halves and put the previous 2 on top...Having left them to harden I got on with my normal chores..I was so excited when I popped them out..AMAZING ♥..I needed to tidy up the seam but they were fab..I grubbied them up with some spices and as I had already added my scented oil to the wax..OH they smell wonderful.."Pumpkin crunch cake"YUM YUM..

I just need to make more now ♥

Well I am so pleased how they turned out and if I was a customer at the Fayre I sure would buy a Santa LOL..

OH MY 2 WONDERFUL SWAPS

I AM A LUCKY GIRL..

Swapping is such great fun and I love to take part..When asked to join the Halloween Tea-Party swap over at Rabbit Hollow Prims I was delighted to take part..This was only my second swap to date..My partner in the swap was Kim at Prims by Kim..In the post my brown box arrived and I was thrilled to received this lovely COUNT TESSA and she now sits on a cubby in my keeping room..

My 3rd swap was with a new blog friend Christine at Preferably Prim..She is the most amazing hand stitcher and her work is fantastic..My box arrived and I was so excited..She sent me along so wonderful fall prims..

AN ENGLISH COUNTRY SHOW

A TASTE OF COUNTRY LIFE IN RURAL NORTHUMBERLAND

This is Harbottle Show which is held in the Oak Tree field 300 yards from my home..it is a shepherds show and brings together the locality...We get to meet up with friends from the rural farms and crofts in the outlying hills of Coquetdale which we haven't seen all summer..It starts with the tents going up on the Wednesday and the committee work really hard to prepare the field for visitors and they build the sheep pens to accommodate the well washed and trimmed sheep for the up and coming competitions

A pic of Hayley in her kit..She is my niece and a drummer in the local pipe-band..

Everyone entering produce or artwork for the competitions have their exhibits placed in the main tent and the judging starts..This goes on for a couple of hours so the show gets underway with the ever popular terrier dog races..This is so much fun for the dogs and audience watching..

The childrens races start soon after and the competitors are all out to win..(you can see the Drakestone in the top left of the pic..an ancient healing stone)

The judging in the main tent is over and we go to see how well we have done..The boys worked extremely hard on there exhibits this year..Finley got a 1st in the craft piece..He was lethal with the glue gun mind LOL..well done..

He took another 1st in the decorated cup cakes category..Excellent..

Elliot took a 2nd place..Good boy..They sure did make a mess with the icing and piping bag but that's all part of the fun I think..

I entered a couple of my prims and scooped a 1st and 2nd..I was real pleased as the competition is tough..

Back out on the field is the Cumberland Wrestling Championships..The younger boys start first and then this moves right up the ages to the men..we have wrestlers who come from all over..Aberdeenshire, Cumberland and every year we have a group of young lads and lasses from France.. The day ends with the presentations of the various cups and the auction sale of the produce..Always a good day had by all..

A FEW DECORATIONS FOR FALL

*BACK TO THE LAND OF THE LIVING*

I am well and truly on the mend now..After a set back and a bad allergic reaction to the drugs I am feeling more like my normal self..Another week of healing and then stitches out and physio so just a couple of weeks and I will be back in the work race LOL..I am finding it difficult and frustrating just pottering around so have been getting some Fall decorations out to cheer up the place..The weather has turned decidedly cooler and the feel of Autumn is here..I added some decor to my mantle..just a Bittersweet garland, some drieds and a couple of pumpkins from last year that I dried..

Drying the pumpkins wasn't to successful as I did start with 6 various colours and sizes and only had 2 that didn't go bad..On another note I tried everywhere to get some dried Sunflowers..not a one in the length and breadth of the U.K and the lady who had them in the States didn't ship international..So whilst out at the supermarket that week they had them on offer so bought up a few stems..I thought in for a penny in for a pound nothing ventured nothing gained LOL..I looked up on the internet how to dry them and followed the instruction..I didn't even look at then for 3wks and lo and behold when I got them out they were dried to perfection and have kept their wonderful colour..I am thrilled with them..

Next I just popped a few gourds into an old dough bowl and popped it on the table..I love the colours and so simple..

The next display I keep out all year and just move it around now and again..It reminds me of witches cats and they look great in this old painted swing handled basket..

I have been busy this week finishing up some NEW fall prims...I just love this time of year what with the Autumn colours and darkening nights..Feels all cozy LOL..I have added these to my selling blog DRAKESTONE PRIMITIVES COUNTRY STORE just click the link to visit...

I am going to be out of action for abit..I am not really a one to go on about stuff so I will be brief..I have been a painkiller popper for the last 3 years with a shoulder problem..Finally as a last resort and after every other tried and tested medical procceedure LOL I will be undergoing surgery on Monday 23th..I am hoping I will be recovered in 2wks but everyone thinks this wishful thinking and the consultants time scale is 6wks in the worse case senario..Personally mine sounds better I think and nothing wrong with being optimistic eh..I have a stack of prim mags un-read and waiting for me to enjoy next week..I think I will still be able to oparate the laptop with one hand so will be checking up on everyone..I still have a couple of orders to finish but as I say there is still a few days left before I go under the knife :0( ...I hope you all take a peek at my NEW FAll goodies and like what you see..

This is the gate to my backyard..

Hi everyone
This week has just flown by what with school holidays prim orders and new ideas for Fall..when it was first suggested to post pics of your *Workplace* I thought OH YEH and that was just the excuse I needed to have that all time clear out LOL..I am sure everyone is the same boat and sometimes have a real muddle going on..Anyway I got cracking and did the spring clean..
When I made my prims and quilted I just had my machine at the back of my large barn sitting room..This wasn't practical really as I had so much stuff and had to put it away neatly everytime I worked..My hubby converted the loft space in the main house for me and now I am in heaven well I am pretty close up there LOL..I go up there and just create to my hearts content..I can walk away anytime my family calls and leave my work at any stage...I feel so lucky to have this space all to myself and would love to share some pics with everyone..

This is my OLD FAITHFUL and I must have sewed miles and miles here :)..

I do have a little bit of sunshine now and again..well I do live in the U.K.. HA HA..

And if I look out the window this is the view I get of my garden..

A PATTERN TO SHARE..
Hey prim friends I have been on a roll today..I have been making a few Fall/Halloween prims and have so enjoyed myself..I am taking part in a couple of swaps and have been inspired to create something new for my friends..It is funny when I get down to stitchin' how much I enjoy it and wish I had a few more hours in the day to do more lol..My dream is to give up the day jobs and spend my time stitchin' and painting all day everyday..OH how I dream..I have a pattern on offer as a free download for you stitchers out there..It is an ornie size *witch and kitty* which sit on top of a small bobbins..just great for tucking in on a shelf or mantel..pop on over to the side-bar and click the pic..
Talking of mantels I received my PRIMITIVE PLACE mag yesterday and OH MY I love it..The pics are just fab and I love the mix of recipes and crafty projects so much so while out shopping this morning I picked up some sweet potatoes and spices and made myself a garland..I have hung it too dry naturally and the smell is just gorgeous..the house is full of the spicy aroma..LUSH..

ANOTHER ANTIQUING TRIP and HUBBY'S NEW MAKE

A PERFECT END TO MY WEEK
On occasion I go to the most wonderful Antique place the only way to describe it really..It is held in an old victorian train station and along both platforms are the most wonderful Antique and Junky stalls..As I have been taking *time-out* last week it seemed the perfect end to my week..I thought I would share the pics with you..
Firstly a miniature Grandmother clock..The face is not original to the clock but I just love the simple case design and it tick tocks too LOL..And an old well used leather bible to add to my collection..

These post cards aren't antique but the designs are just fab and an old soup can..

Lastly an old cast iron gridle pan just perfect for my drop scones (a bit like a pancakes to my U.S friends)

This is my clock in it's new home in my Keeping room..just perfect :) ..

I can't believe another handmade from my hubby..When my grandbabies come over which is often this is the perfect table for their drinks and snacks but with my 2 youngest boys also it was a squash..So on my hubby's todo list I put simple stool for kitchen table and WALLA he came up trumps..The perfect size for 2 little bums LOL..well it's back to the grind for me now what with my day jobs an all but I have been working on a few FALL and HALLOWEEN prims too and will share soon..hope everyone is well..*~*Blessings*~*..XX

A GOOD DAY ALL ROUND

AND A GIRLS FAVOURITE THING A BARGAIN
With the school holidays just starting over here in the U.K it is a constant battle to occupy the kids from day to day and yes I must admit I like a bit of time-out too..Off we went to the car-boot today which is held on a large rugby field around a 40 minute drive away..Today there must have been 200 cars all with their boots open.. it is just ordinary people selling their unwanted household junk or treasure to others LOL..I have added a pic of my goodies today and can't believe I only spent £10..
When I got home the postie had been and left me a note to say I had parcels in the old suitcase.. the hiding place he pops them in when I am out..I opened the first one and it was my goodies from my dear friend Sarah..Oh I love parcels from her..

Then I noticed the U.S post mark on the next one and just knew it was from Sally at Country Heritage Primitives..My new judy book..And as always a lovely little freebie..

Now to end my perfect day..get the boys away to bed early..shower..jammies on and curl up on the settee with my new book..Oh yeh and get hubby to bring me a coffee..Hope everyone has a good day I know I have..*~*Blessings*~*

THE TAIL OF MY SWAG

A BIG DILEMMA FOR ME..
It all started when my very dear friend Sarah was remodelling her sitting room and going for a more colonial look..The window treatment she was after was a swag and tails...she bought the fabric and then asked if I could help and make them up..After scouring many picturetrail pics and flicking through my Country samplers I was still no further forward..The tails were going to be a doddle as I have done these many times..I went over to the Primitive peddler cafe to ask for advise..Everyone was very helpful but there was no easy methods..I even had the sleepless night thinking how I was going to make this swag..Anyway to cut a long story short I just bit the bullet and went for it..I had a simple idea from the internet (that wonderful place) on how to make it..
This is the end result and I must say Sarah is thrilled with them and the design just finishes her new makeover room off..

I am now waiting for the fabric to arrive from Ireland to make some more in this design for her dinning room.. but easy peasy now I know how HA HA..*~*Blessings*~* to all..XX

OFF THE BEATIN' TRACK

SOMETHING A BIT DIFFERENT
Even though creating Primitives is my first passion I do like to do other crafty things too.. I have been taking a break of late from stitchin' and just concerntrating on my pattern designs..My hands were itchy for some practical work though LOL...I have loved scrappin' all my life and as a child would cut and stick for hours..I have a wide range of images and paper scraps which I just find hard to get rid of so keep them in an old basket and file..My hubby does a bit of painting mostly in the winter months when he can't get out he uses oils so he had some canvass' kicking around..Armed with a couple I dug out my scrappin' bits, glue and inks..then the fun began and I did these pictures and thought I would share with you all..

and this one "TIME"

Oh what fun I had and there was no hurry either as they were left out and I would go back to them from time to time and do a bit more..I just love how they turned out..It is good to do something totally different just for a change..Hope everyone is keeping well *~*Blessings*~*

MY SIMPLE CROCK CANDLE LAMPS

HANDCRAFTED BY A DEAR FRIEND..

I wanted to share the story of my simple crock candle lamps..I am so lucky to live where I live as I am surrounded by some very talented people..Ann lives 2 doors down from me and walks her dog along the road past my home everyday..She is a retired art teacher and now has her own pottery and art studio..she sells her wares at local craft shops and at the mo her paintings are on exhibition in Italy..I wanted to make a couple of simple crock lamps for my home and mentioned this to her one morning on passing..she said she would be delighted to make the bases for me on the condition I helped..
They started life as a lump of clay and Ann molded them into shape..not an easy task as I discovered..
This is real precision work and I was amazed at how they were formed.It did take quite a bit of time as they had to rest in between stages..we would call in on our way home from school to see what they were doing..He is Finley my youngest son watching Ann..
They were then dipped in slip to give them the creamy grey colour I was after..
They we rested for another week and then I painted the simple design on the crocks..that didn't take long as you can see only a couple of stokes LOL..
Ann glazed the crocks and fired them..On the morning of my birthday she said they were done but wasn't happy as they had taking on a crackle look..I was absolutely thrilled they looked so worn..perfect I said..I brought them home and fitted my candle lights..
They have tucked in along side my other crocks perfectly and look great..I just love them..Thank you Ann.. Hope everyone is keeping well *~*Blessings*~*

AN HEIRLOOM TABLE FOR MY ANNIVERSARY

MY HARVEST TABLE
It is my wedding Anniversary today and I have had the most wonderful day spent with my family and the best mans family too in the summer sunshine sipping chilled pimms and eating lush food..just perfect..I wanted to share the gift my hubby has made for me..He is a stonemason to trade but pretty handy too..He started making this table a few weeks ago..It started life as really large old beams from some farm buildings..He has cut all the wood down and spent every spare minute making this large harvest table which is 6ft long and also has 4 drawers.. In the pics the top has started to go through the proccess of sealing the wood with oils and turps this is not quite finished just yet as his Dad is doing that part and at 79 years young is going at his own pace LOL which is fine by me..

My hubby and son-in-law moved it into situ today so it can now be used and will be perfect for tomorrows sunday lunch..I love love love it..Thank you my Darling..Hope all of you are enjoying your weekend..*~*Blessings*~*

A LITTLE ADVENTURE I HAD LAST WEEK

APPLEBY HORSE FAIR
Every year for the past 40 years my Dad has visited this horse fair in Cumbria and now in his more mature years my sis and I feel we want to take him and just enjoy his company for this special day.. he has been a horse man and loved working with them at times in his life.. so I thought I would share this adventure with you all..We set off so early and got there at around 7am..It is around a 3 hour drive and yes that is my job LOL..The weather was just lovely and they were washing some horses down at the river when we got there..

The caravans are highly decorated outside and inside..A pic of my sis and my oldest son Allan..His first visit to the fair..He has his name down for next year too..

In the evening we sat down by the river and to watch..Here is a young couple swimming with the horses..It is a long day and we left around 5pm but what fun spending quality time with my Dad ..He so loves it.. MOTHER NATURE ALWAYS FINDS A WAY

* A BLACKBIRDS STORY*

I wanted to share the story of the blackbird that lives at my parents home..They live on a small croft and when I was child we had a couple of cows, 2 goats full of character and of course loads of chickens..They have lived there some 40 years and now enjpy their retirement living a country style life...now in the wall'd garden the blackbird built her nest in the shrubbery and after laying her eggs it was demolished by a weasel, her eggs were eaten and her nest torn to shreds..My dad noticed she had gone AWOL for a while..Life went on as normal and behold she reappead.. He looked for her nest but to no avail... So he sat out one fine afternoon and watched to see where she went..he could not believe his eyes when she disappeared under the hood of his old tractor and took a peek.. Just days before he had spent the day leading logs from the field across the way...

This amazing little bird was not going to be beat and knew this old tractor would be a safe place to raise her young..The tractor is out of action for a while until they all fly the nest....

This bonnet head is a brand new design and I hope to add it to my website over the next few days...

MY ALICE SWAP IS PACKED AND ON IT'S WAY

Here are some pics I would like to share with you of my take on the *MARCH HARE* from Alice in Wonderland...I used mohair for his body and for his shirt some muslin..his jacket is a vintage dogtooth check wool...for the charm I used some vintage style graphics with chain and rusty bell and pin..I also made a simple tag to go along with him and then grubbied everything up to give it that prim touch..he is on his way to the States now gift wrapped in an old tissue paper pattern piece..

I was really lucky to get Sue from RABBIT HOLLOW PRIMS as my swap partner...I have had so much fun doing this I am already looking out for my next swap LOL...

MY BABY IS 7 YEARS OLD NOW !!!! WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE..

I can't believe this week my baby is 7 years old..He is the youngest of my 6 children and for his birthday he was desperate for a pet of his own...We thought him now old enough for such a privilage..he chose to have a guinea pig and we went to the pet shop to make that special selection..As they thrive better in pairs he decided to let his older brother Elliot choose a guinea pig for himself so they could have one each....

BELATED EASTER BLESSINGS..BUT WHAT FUN WE HAD :0)..

I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy Easter..We have had a house full of students over the weekend and with all the cooking it has been hectic but fun...we are now back to norm if there is ever a one LOL...

After getting over a virus this last week I did put a couple of spring time gatherings together...hope you like the pics..

Here is a pic of the eggs we dyed all ready to roll on Easter Sunday..This is a lovely Easter card all handstitched by my secound youngest son Elliot aged 8..Oh and the egg he did too..A very talented little soul..

A LITTLE WASHED OUT THIS WEEK

It surely has been one of those weeks..earlier on as I posted before a real high after winning the Jill Peterson book and then struck down with tonsillitus..I have still been making my prims for ebay with little breaks in between..I just so love doing the prim bears and with Easter just around the corner a couple of bunnies..

All of these are now available on ebay this week..XX

These bunnies are so simply prim and would look fab with any easter vignette...

IT MAKES IT MAKES EVERYTHING WORTHWHILE ON MOTHERS DAY

Well another busy week in the Roberts household and I haven't really had any spare time for my prims this week...It is "MOTHERS DAY" here in the U.K today and as part of my day OFF LOL..I have been creating some prim pandas...I have done one especially for myself this time which is a rare thing...they will be all finished by midweek..As part of our MOTHERS DAY treat we took Nanna and Grandma to the cinema to see "Alice in Wonderland" it was fantastic and everyone loved it...I have hopefully been accepted onto the Alice swap way over at Rabbit Hollow Prims...it is my first ever swap so quite excited about it..after so much inspiration from the cinema I am thinking hard about my prim creation and will keep an update over here...I have added pics of the wonderful handcrafted cards I received from some of my kids and also breath of spring in a vase...

WOW what fun

I have had the most fantastic week just playing around with fabric and graphics..

I managed to print some real vintage graphics onto some grubby fabric with the most amazing results and then made these fab EASTER decorations...The eggs look amazing in an old sieve or bowl...

I went on to then create some simple settler bags and smaller ditty bags..

I do have some of these available on ebay along with some more of my prim creations and now redundant goods...I am expecting something special in the post over the next couple of days and then hope to update my picturetrail homey pics...I already have Sarah and Steve's new updated pics and can't wait to add them..til next time ..*~*blessings*~* Angi XX

VINTAGE EASTER EGGS

These vintage looking Easter eggs are just the perfect thing for your bowls and buckets..I have used some great vintage graphics and then printed them onto fabric..they are divine and can't wait to make more LOL...I have a large old sieve to fill so better get started..I have a few new prims listed on ebay this week with a couple of OOAK's..

A sweet prim baby rabbit..she is made from mohair and has been trimmed and shaved to give her a real old worn look..she is infectious..I just keep looking at her LOL...

This is a brand new design from me...He is made from a fur type fabric which looks great and his little bobbity tail is needle felted..He is just perfect for your Easter Gatherings..he has already gone to a new home..:) ...Hope you have all had a great weekend..*~*Blessings*~* Angi XX

I remember when I made my first prim doll and I just couldn't stop making them...Well over the years I have done a couple of bears but they have just grabbed me this time and I can't stop making them LOL...Plus I want to share them around now as the last ones I selfishly kept for myself...they come to life and I have trouble parting with them you see HEHE...

This is a must for Easter ..would be fab with a basket full of eggs...XX

A NEW YEARS promise to be a better blogger LOL

HAS SHE GONE BEAR MAD !!!!

Well I hope everyone is well and happy...I have been a real poor blogger and I am making a promise to be great this year keeping you all updated with my "GOING ONS"....Since my last blog I have been busy with my family and their various activities then we had Christmas and the worse snow weather we have had in the last 10 years...We were snowed under for 2wks isolated really..living in a rural area we are always prepared with plenty of food and other supplies so no worries there..I did busy myself with some designing and have added some pics of them..I must add that thank goodies for the WWW as it kept me in touch and my new prims all got new homes real quick...I have gone a bit BEAR mad over the last few weeks and have had great fun creating and making..Everyone seems to come to life and have a character of their own...

I have still been doing a few dolls too..they are my passion and I have had great pleasure creating these ones...you know when an idea just wakes you in the night and then you dream of it..this is them...XX

This OLDE TIME BEAR is a real special one I have had to keep him at home...He sits in front of my stool stack in the bedroom..

Another one for me..my first standing bear for my hallway..

CHRISTMAS IS COMING

I have been really neglectful of my blog page but have checked in regularly to see what all the other bloggers have been up to...With the summer well and truly over now even though the temperatures over here in the U.K at the mo are better than we had in june...manic really !!!..I haven't stopped stitching for a minute and had my usual fun creating new prims for ebay and my site...I have this past week been thinking of Christmas and my own decor...I bought a pencil tree last year in the sales but need to fill it up with prims..so lately I have been making smalls for ebay and doubling up for my own tree...In my head it looks great LOL...I would like to share a few of my new santas with you which are available on my website...I hope everyone is well and enjoying the colours of autumn....Halloween is looming and the pumkins are ready and waiting to be cut...scary outfits are hanging on the back of the doors waiting to be aired on saturday night....My family all get together dressed to KILL and have a great party with apple bobbing and games..delicous food and fireworks...OH so looking forward to that...will take the camera and share some pics....speak soon...ANGI X
