MY INSPIRATION ..MY HERO...

THE CORN FIDDLER by ALLAN WOOD

This is a speacial day today !!!..I am so proud...We have enjoyed a bank holiday here in the U.K and the weather was perfect...Back in 1941 a lad was born and then brought up by his grandmother and uncle...This man is my father...As a young man he started to write poetry for his 3 young girls and would recite it at bedtime...He was encouraged by his family and friends to enter competitions and brought home to us many a cup or shield from these gatherings..A few years ago he was invited over to the
"COWBOY POETS CONVENTION" in Elko Neveda...which he totally enjoyed...
He has apeared on many radio and tv programmes and also produced a tape a couple of years ago which the procceeds go to the local music and arts..which helps pay and encourage young poeple to take up a musical instrument or follow other fields in the arts...

Today his book and CD were released and he was signing copies at the local fair..As my dad never intended to make any money from the gift god gave him all the proceeds from the poems he wrote will go to the 4 local churches..this also helps with the cost of producing and distibuting a monthly church mag..
This is a pic of him and me today..I just feel so proud of this simple man who only aspired to bring up and nurture his family..encouraging them in every way on their own journeys in life...

A few family members there today giving there support...

A MAKE-OVER FOR FRIDAY

Well another week over and where does the time go ???...I have ended my week with a great make-over that I would like to share with you all...I bought this relatively cheap apothecary in an unfinished state..I had big plans for it to go in my kitchen..Out came the paint and brushes and I set too...First I painted it all black and then rubbed it back to give it a worn out look.. Rubbing in some antique wax and then giving it a good old buff up once it was dry..My apothecary was finished and mind it looked so prim...

As I said it was destined for the kitchen but just didn't shine there..so around the rooms I went with it in hand and finally it came to rest on the Gathering Room wall...perfect place I thought..Now for the prims..It sounds so easy to say but the prim Hare was only waiting for his wheels and I made up a little bird to hang...My prim Apothecary was done and looked fab... I was OH so pleased with my new gathering and all it had taken was a bit of imagination and a pot of paint LOL...

The HARE is a brand new design of mine and is soon to be available as a pattern...I would like to wish you all well and hope you enjoy your weekend...*~*Blesings*~* Angi XX

SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL

It has been a while since I posted on my blog so I wanted to share my teeny bits with you... A couple of week ago I went to visit my dear friend Sarah.. She only lives 30 miles away and she and her hubby Steve are the creators of THE PRIM AT HEART HOMESTEAD..you can view there picturetrail at http://www.picturetrail.com/theprimathearthomestead there prim home is just amazing and I always feel so welcome and at home when I am there... Steve made for me this teeny to scale downsized cubby.. It is just perfect and so detailed... When I came home I had to set to and make some tiny prims to dress this great piece... A very small patch doll and an even smaller sock doll plus seed bag... Then cover up a teeny box and finish with a downsized teeny elephant..After all that the gathering was perfect and I am hooked on the small LOL... I have also gone on and done a teeny pull-toy which is available on ebay at the mo..so go check it out and bag bargain..http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/countryspiceangel_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZ we girls just love the thought of that HEHE..
