A TOUR AROUND MY YARD

*~*A TOUR AROUND MY YARD*~*

It is such a lovely day here in Northumberland I thought I would share some pics from around my yard.. You must remember this is a family home so if you look closely you will see the odd bike wheel and Guinea-pig cottage LOL..

I live in a stone built house which was built around 1830.. The stone from Harbottle Castle was used to build my home and most of the houses in Harbottle.. It was at one time a cobblers shop which was situated upstairs so on the outside of my house the stone steps which still excist today were used to access the shop..

The beautiful Peonies that lie at the bottom of the stone steps..
And the wonderful running water troughs my hubby made from natural stone..
Through the gate my dad made to keep those rascally children in LOL
Another hubby make the stone sundial..
The walls and steps up to the top garden were all done by my hubby too.. A handy chap to have around..

My yard looks so nice today when the sun was shinning I just had to share.. Hope enjoyed the quick tour.. *~*blessings*~*

MORE ANTIQUE SHOPPING TODAY

*~*MORE ANTIQUE SHOPPING TODAY*~*

Oh boy I am on a roll this week and need to get back to my day job and save some dosh LOL.. I had a another day out today really to catch up with a friend I haven't seen in a while and she lives right next to this great Antique Market.. A large warehouse kinda place with lots of booths just filled with the most amazing Vintage and Antique items.. These great French Antique linen monogrammed teacloths caught my eye.. Fantastic used condition and a great large size too...

I brought in one of my Sad Irons from outside and popped the linens in a wire basket with a sprig of Sweet Annie for a simple display in the kitchen..
Not sure how long they will stay in the basket coz they are a great size for making pillows LOL..
My home is filled with the wonderful smell from these Lillies.. Smells like Summer..
Last but not least I have a couple of my Attic Bears on Ebay this week too...
A great end of the week for me.. Hope it is the same for you too *~*blessings*~*

WEDNESDAY JUNK HAUL

*~*WEDNESDAY JUNK HAUL*~*

Whilst out on a treat day with my girls I just had to pop into one of my favourite places.. For a staggering £6.00 ( around $9.00 ) I found these great little lamp tables just screeming for a make-over and this large stash of great quality ticking fabric.. There must be around 10 metres too.. What a bargain..

I can't wait to get started.. I have visions of the tables done but still thinking about the fabric LOL..
Off to meet a friend for coffee in the morning and to check out another junk/antique place.. Maybe there will be something for me there too.. Fingers crossed.. Life is good *~*blessings*~*..

A SIMPLE PROJECT FOR FRIDAY

*~* A SIMPLE PROJECT FOR FRIDAY*~*

Look what the delivery man brought me earlier this week.. I have a very special place planned for this beauty which I will share with you all at the end of the month. But first it needed a little face-lift..

As it is for the garden I wanted to keep to that theme so out with the brushes and paint..
As you can see I didn't clean it as I want it to look weathered and also I love and wanted to retain the sweet green socks that it wears..
I think this simple paint job has done the trick and I love how it has turned out.. Now we just need to finish up the spot it will finally call home.. We are having lovely weather here in the U.K this week and long may it last as it makes you feel full of life.. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and feel free to leave a comment.. I love to hear from you all.. *~*blessings*~*
